THE SOPHIE DOODLES

sophiedoodles2

I’ve been doing the character doodle thing for a while know, I’ve done Coco Chanel, Marie Antoinette, Holly Golightly and many more. And then it dawned on me, if I’m a character (a very complex character), why not do a doodle print about little Sophie?

So first I drew myself, my “after the curling iron” self. My “after the shower” hair is messier, curlier and a little bit hectic (but the rack is real, I do have those boobs). I chose the color palette, now that was a no-brainer: powder pink & blush pink forever. About my choice of accessories, I have a thing for toe-caps, pointy pumps with NO PLATFORM, all kinds of shoes (with no platform) as long as there’s animal print involved and shoulder bags in neutral tones. I love pink lips (not flashy and hot but pastel and natural), Agent Provocateur and white wine. I would say macarons are my third favorite dessert, cookie dough is my first but it’s not that pretty to draw or look at. Last but not least, I have a serious obsession, bunny slippers. I’ve never owned a pair, I’ve never found a pair, but as soon as I do, I’m not planning on taking those off.

So there you go, Sophie’s doodles, Sophie’s all-time favorite shit, Sophie’s very pink and powdery world. You likey?

HAUTE DOODLES: The Stella Dress

stelladoodleIt all came out as it usually does with my illustrations. What was supposed to be part of something, became the star of a post and the beginning of a new series of them, the Haute Doodles. As you already know, I am a fashion freak. I know my trends and I know my designers. I get really excited when Net-a-porter and Mytheresa.com add new items to their  What’s new categories. I make wish lists about the garments or accessories I would love to own but can’t really afford to buy right now. And I do find extreme pleasure in drawing and coloring those items as well. Hey, if you can’t afford it, you might as well sketch it, print it and plaster it on the wall (for motivational purposes or decorative ones, your choice).

I’ve always been a Spring kind of gal, but this year, Resort became my new personal favorite. Resort has the best of the two worlds, Summery clothes, cheery Spring ones and a little bit of outerwear and knits, heavier garments. The clothes are more wearable, the have a seasonless feeling about them (great investment for your closet) and the collections have perfect timing: they have what you need, when you need it, temperature wise.

Resort 2014 was fabulous, the colors, the prints, the trends were absolutely beautiful and very much my style. One of the strongest collections out there, as always, was Miss Stella McCartney’s. And as always, there was that one dress everyone (or almost everyone) would love to own. You know which one, the shift with the lips, and the hearts and the matches, and the jewels. If I can’t have it, I’ll settle for the sweatshirt, or the Falabella clutch…

Have a lovely week…

COCO DOODLES

coco96

Oh I”ve been plotting this one for a while now and I finally brought myself to do it. Countless poster quotes, books, movies, illustrations and products have been made about one of the most important characters in the history of fashion, the designer, the innovator, the icon, Coco Chanel. Her 2.55 is the most coveted accessory in the world, not the Birkin. Her perfume is the classic of classics. Her tweed jackets have been copied, reinvented and revamped by almost every fashion house and retailer. Coco Chanel is perhaps the most elegant, interesting and delightful cliche there is and of course, I had to doodle her and her world. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed preparing it!

“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants”.

Güerita Doodles

guerita96

La Güerita

She is a blonde bombshell with a beautiful mind.

She knows her sports as well as she knows her make-up.

An old soul and the definition of talent.

A dog lover, food lover, bag lover and champagne lover (runs in the family).

She is my sister, the blonde one, and it’s her birthday today!

So raise your glass and give it up for one of the six loves of my life!

Oh, how I love my doodles! If you have been reading me for a while, you probably have noticed that theme wallpapers are really my thing. It all started one day, after hours and hours of creative block, I read somewhere that doodling on a notepad was a way of breaking the “dry brain” spell. And so I began with a face, then a pair of shoes, then a Chanel bag and so on. That’s when it hit me: The doodles were very Parisian and they looked so good together. So I scanned my scribbles and I started repeating them on a blank Photoshop canvas, creating a print. After the Lady Doodles, I came up with the beach theme, then Audrey Hepburn and many more!

Today I have one that’s very close to my heart, the Marie Antoinette doodle. You may hate her, you may love her, but she’s had a strong influence in my artistic style. As a teenager, I favored dark clothes, metal music, dog spikes and random piercings in random body parts. Then the magic happened. Like Cinderella, I blame it on a pair of pink shoes but also on Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. Those two things turned me into the pastel-obsessed Francophile I am today. Devoting a doodle wallpaper to her was something I just had to do and I hope you love the result as much as I did making this print.

Have a lovely weekend! Sweet kisses…

From Paris…

paris96

It’s the cherry on top pf the Fashion Month cake! After three weeks of countless runways and presentations, you’d think people would be fed up with Fashion Week, but that’s not the case. After a delightful three-course dinner (New York, London and Milan), the thing one wants the most is a sweet and luscious dessert (we’ll worry after the aftermath later). And Paris, my friends, is just that. The perfect ending to what has been a perfect season, packed with trends, styles, colors and talent, lots of it! Tomorrow, Paris kicks-off with its usual and very impressive line-up: Saint Laurent, Dries van Noten, Lanvin, Giambattista Valli, Celine, Chloe and the list goes on and on! Here for you today, the complete Mode a Paris schedule:

Paris Doodles

paris96final

If you are one of my regulars, there’s one thing you already know about me: I’m a francophile. If it’s your first time reading me, you should know I have been obsessed with all things French for as long as I can remember. And since my Etsy shop is in the works, I’m sketching and illustrating prints and posters galore! Last post was all about the iconic Audrey Hepburn and since she was a Paris lover, like me, the thought of making a doodle print about the prettiest city of them all was a-no brainer. After all, Paris is always a good idea….

AUDREY DOODLES

audreywall96

Yes, call me a walking cliché (I bet you are one too), but there’s just something about her that I can’t really explain. Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote made history, and so did the lady starring in the film about the book. Audrey Hepburn, moviewise and more importantly, fashionwise, changed it all. Countless books have been written about her, entire collections have been made inspired by her and her films, her style never gets old and her movies, God knows how many times I’ve watched Roman Holiday (DVD is probably about to die on me).  So here’s a little Audrey doodle print, one I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Paris, pink, the white gloves, the pearls, the little blue Tiffany box, all the things she used to love, all the thing I happen to love too!

“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles”.

Audrey Hepburn

Hope you like it as much as I loved making it!

Sweet kisses…

PS: NYFW has just started and so has Sweet n’raw’s coverage! Don’t miss it!

SEXY DOODLES

sexy doodles3

Today is one of those days, those days when you kinda wanna forget about trends and styles and focus on pure creativity. It’s been a while since I began with my doodle/wallpaper series and I love, looove putting them together (I have a thing for theme and cute patterns). As I told you before, I’m putting together a print shop on Etsy, it’s taking a while but the thing will be up in the next few days. I’ll definitely keep you posted!

Today’s theme is an obvious one, lingerie, Parisian style (you know me, the ultimate Francophile). It’s all about lace in all the right places, the classic pink and cream background, the whole Agent Provocateur kind of vibe (I’m also obsessed with the brand, my favorite perfume would be their retro luxe, golden bottle of Maitresse), the chemise, the racy corset, the retro basque and the lolita panties with the balconette bra. J’adore!

Are you lingerie obsessed like me?

Sweet kisses…
