Well, I have kept you newsless for the past two days. The lovely Sirmione, Italy kept me away from my laptop for a while (my eyes thanked me for the break!). But freshly baked, or not, here it is, your daily bread!
- Versace for H&M, God has answered our prayers, fashion people! Joining Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçons, Matthew Williamson, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin, who have previously collaborated with the Swedish retailer, Versace has just signed a deal to design a collection fot H&M. It will be available on November 19, so mark that date on you calendars! Donatella Versace and her glamourous creations will be hitting the web and selected stores this fall. And her spring pre-collection will be available on January only for online purchase. She will be doing womenswear, menswear and even a little home inspired by iconic pieces from previous collections! - Alaïa to Dior: No thanks! After the Galliano incident (currently in rehab but his appearance in court is expected on Wednesday) and months of speculation about who will succed the designer as Creative Director of the french fashion house, we are still in the dark. Names have been said, including Burton, Ackermann and Tisci, but up until now just rumors. What we do know is that the Tunisian designer, Azzedine Alaïa was offered the job and turned it down. Flattered but not interested, the designer is said to have refused to take the position because of the pressure and fast pace big fashion houses work with. Alaïa, now in his 70’s, has alway worked at his own pace.
- David “Candy” Gandy. Aside from the fact that I saw his fabulous self three days ago in person and my heart stopped for a few seconds, Mr. Gandy, the world’s most beautiful man, has now been immortalized in a book. Fashion Designer duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (also his biggest fans) have compilated in a book the britsh model’s career highlights, including those white speedo’s everyone has been drooling about ever since the Light Blue campaign came out. From catwalk pictures to unseen portraits, this book, David Gandy by Dolce & Gabbana is all about a gorgeous piece of mancandy, also known as David Gandy.
- McMenamy for Gaultier Fall 2011. Veteran model Kristen McMenamy has got it going on. Ever since that Vogue Italia’s cover, the 46 year old has walked the runway for Lagerfeld in Chanel Cruise 2012 and has now snagged Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest ad campaign for fall. Styled by the one and only, Carine Roitfeld, Kristen looks sleek and chic in a tight leather skirt!
